2010 New Zealand Post Book Awards Winners & Finalists

Aug 28th - 2010 Book of the Year Winner: Encircled Lands: Te Urewera, 1820-1921 by Judith Binney, Bridget Williams Books

NZ Post Book Awards judge, Paul Diamond, described the winning work as one that will profoundly change our understanding of our shared history. The book also won the General Non-Fiction category.

Other winners: Fiction Award As the Earth Turns Silver by Alison Wong; Poetry Just This by Brian Turner; Illustrated Non-Fiction winner was Go Fish: Recipes and stories from the New Zealand Coast by Al Brown. Go Fish also won the People's Choice Award.

Fan voted awards for various endeavours in the science fiction, fantasy or horror fields by New Zealanders.

August 18th - Delicious as ever the 2010 LIANZA winners sponsored by Fishpond and Caffe L’Affare have been announced.

Gavin Bishop’s There was Crooked Man , Dear Alison edited by Simon Pollard, The Billionaires Curse by Richard Newsome , Banquo's Son by Tania Roxborough and Hewa written by Darryn Joseph were amongst the winners.
